About the Destination
A gentle 4 km trail that winds between sandstone walls and drifting dunes in the heart of Sharaan. The path is flat and forgiving, shaped more for noticing than for distance, which makes it a good introduction to AlUla's canyons for families, first-time hikers, and anyone traveling with time to spare. Your guide walks at the pace of the group, pointing out the small things the desert asks you to slow down for: wind-carved rock, desert plants, the shift of light along the canyon walls. By the end, the valley feels less like a place you passed through and more like somewhere you arrived. About two and a half hours over 4 km.
What to Bring
Day pack (20 liters), hat, jacket or fleece, ankle-support boots, sunscreen, gloves, and any personal medication.
